Geoffrey Hill

Violin

Geoffrey Hill is a performer and educator from Boise, ID. He attended the College of Idaho for violin performance, where he studied with former Boise Philharmonic concertmaster, Geoffrey Trabichoff. He is Principal Second Violin of the Boise Phil, associate concertmaster of the Boise Baroque Orchestra, associate concertmaster of the McCall Mountain Symphony, and is a first-call player for traveling shows that perform in Boise. Besides performing, he also teaches private violin students of all ages.

Kate Jarvis

Kate Jarvis is a violinist and music educator based in Boise, Idaho. She is currently the assistant concertmaster of the Boise Philharmonic, principal second violin of the Boise Baroque Orchestra, and a sought after collaborator in the Treasure Valley arts community. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music (BM) and the University of Minnesota (MM), her primary teachers have been Charles Castleman and Sally O’Reilly. In addition to her performing career, Kate is a devoted teacher and maintains a full studio of exceptional violin students of all ages.

Lindsay Bohl

Lindsay Bohl

Viola

Lindsay Bohl is a violist based in Boise, Idaho. She currently serves as the Associate Principal Viola of the Boise Philharmonic and member of the Boise Philharmonic String Quartet. Prior to her position in Boise, Lindsay was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. An active performer, Lindsay has also played with orchestras around the country including the Hawaii Symphony, the American Ballet Theatre, Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, and others.

Lindsay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance and Music Education from the University of Arizona and a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in Viola Performance. Her principal teachers include Hong-Mei Xiao and Rolland Vamos

Philip Kettler

Cello

Philip Kettler is the newly appointed Principal Cellist of the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra. A passionate chamber musician and teacher, he also serves as the cellist of the Langroise Trio and Lecturer/Artist-in-Residence at The College of Idaho. He began his positions in Boise after three seasons with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, where he served as Second Cellist and the orchestra’s youngest member. Philip has also performed with the Indianapolis Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and Sarasota Orchestra, and previously held principal positions in orchestras including the Terre Haute Symphony, Carmel Symphony, and Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, among others. In recent seasons, Philip has been featured as a soloist and chamber musician at the Chevy Chase Concert Series (Washington, DC), Blair Concert Series (Nashville, TN), Concerts at Bradley Hills (Bethesda, MD), and Chamber Music Evergreen (Evergreen, CO). In the summer, Philip is the Acting Principal Cellist of the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, and has spent previous summers performing with the National Repertory Orchestra and at the music festivals of Aspen, Bowdoin, and Aix-en-Provence (France).

Philip is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Music degree at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he also earned his Masters degree. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Vanderbilt University and also completed studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the Netherlands. His principal teachers include Eric Kim, Felix Wang, and Dmitry Ferschtman. Philip is regularly invited to serve as an adjudicator and clinician for competitions and festivals throughout the Northwest and Mountain West.
